Scrumptious Sunday.....

Good Morning Everybody! The sun is shining and the sky is blue. Jim went out and turned up the Hot Tub so I look forward to that later on this afternoon. We turned it down this past week since it was so dastardly cold.

I'm going to try a new recipe for dinner this evening. I saw someone make it in the "Leite's culinaria" Group on FB, and it looked like something JIm and I would enjoy.
    http://www.food.com/recipe/chinese-roast-chicken-72990
I put it in marinade last night and will turn it this morning. I'll serve edamame on the side.

No big plans. We'll probably go out for a walk after breakfast to clear the cobwebs.

So glad you checked in last night Linda, and I'm going to concur with Karen in saying that you are doing an amazing job. Glad you have the Home Care nurse coming today. Have you met her previously? I can see how the decision to sell the house in SC looks like the best option at this point and I know it saddens you, but just because you sell it, doesn't mean that you guys won't find another house somewhere else in the future.

    Wishing everyone a good Sunday!

Good morning Janet and all. I also concur with Karen and Janet, Linda you ARE doing an amazing job! Enjoy your walk Janet and hot tub later.
Just finished breakfast. Hubs made an omelet and sausage patties. Was delightful but now I am so full I can't move and have tons of chores I want to get done today, lol.

Not sure on dinner yet. Will see how the day turns out.

    Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

Good morning everyone. I had a look at that recipe Janet and it does look good. Enjoy the hot tub.
I'm so sorry that your going through this Linda and agree with the others. Your doing a great job!! I still think of you daily and pray that things improve.
Your breakfast sounds right up my alley Kimmer. I'm like you, I can't get much done after a huge meal.
I didn't get half of the house work done yesterday so today I will soldier on. I have a sirloin roast defrosting and will probably cook it in the pressure cooker. Our daughter will join us for dinner so salad will be on the menu other than that I haven't a clue.

Morning Kimmer! Yum on omelettes and sausage patties. We did poached eggs on toast with fried tomatoes. Good luck with all your chores.

Morning Bren! Good Luck with your house work as well. Yum on your sirloin roast.

    Good morning everyone!
Your breakfast and dinner sound great, Janet. It is a nice sunny day for a walk.

I am also of the same opinion as everyone else, Linda. You are doing a great job!

I can't do much when I am full either, Kimmer. I would probably wait until my stomach calmed down a bit before tackling anything.

Good luck with your housework, Bren. Enjoy your dinner with your daughter.

Den is doing the laundry and we are having pork chops for dinner. It seems what I thought was a cold has disappeared. It might have just been an allergy to something. I am glad it didn't turn into a full blown cold.

    Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

It was a nice temperature for a walk Joce! Downright balmy in some areas where it was sheltered and the sun had actual warmth to it. We did about 5K. Oh good that you're feeling better!

Got an email from Benjamin. He got his cast off yesterday and is very excited about his upcoming trip to the Philippines.

    Hi everyone
Thinking positive thoughts Linda. If it isn't meant to be than it probably feels better just to have made the decision about staying out for now. We had to back out of a house when the girls were little. Frank was having a routine ultrasound because he was having stomach issues (he has GERD) anyway they found a tumor right in the middle of his liver totally inoperable and if cancerous basically they could do nothing. It turned out to be beniegn but at the time it was to stressful and he had to have surgery just to have the biopsy. But then once everything was settled we found the house we live in now which is much better.
Went prom dress shopping with Becca. We fell in love with the 3rd dress. So beautiful and Becca loved it. Looks good on her. It will need to be altered since she is only 5'2

Tonight's dinner is chicken fajitas and rice.

I also like those tomatoes Janet but never see the. In the big can. I see the Pastene but I'm turned off by them as the last can I got had complete discoloration when I emptied it and since I didn't know what it was I tossed out a whole sauce. I sent them a message with a picture and got no response so I'm boycotting lol

    Hi.

    Prayers continuing for you Linda.

    Cool avatar, Tina!

Enjoy your hot tub Janet! Glad you heard from Benjamin!

Glad you just had allergies Joce. Both of us are in the midst of sinus drainage and sore throats....probably also allergies. Ugh!

A sirloin roast sounds yummy, Bren. If you notice an extra person at the table it is just virtual me. Ha ha!

Kimmer, I have no idea what for dinner either. GS is here so probably just burgers.

The trip to church was evxhilerating....we rounded a Curve and a big tree had fallen across the road. Wayne hit the brakes, could not swerve or we would have flipped into the ditch (soft, muddy dirt off the edge). Fortunately the trunk fell on the other side of the road and we plowed through the top branches. Ice flew everywhere. The truck is not damaged and we were fine.

About 200 yards further a four foot long evergreen / likely pine, branch fell on top of the truck roof. No damage that we saw. I reported the tree and it had been removed this afternoon.

Small long-needle pines are still bent to the ground, covered in ice. They look like ancient soldiers bowing to a passing emporer.

Ice on the trees is melting like mad and our yard has lots of pieces littering the ground, so glad it will melt.

North of Edgar Springs the precipitation is in the form of sleet and freezing rain, ? If any came as ice. Their roads are bad! Ava was foggy with 1/8 mile visibility.

    Glad to be home.

Wow Karen, sounds like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride for you! Glad you are home now and can hopefully relax!

Had some steak and potatoes for dinner tonight. Was ok. Guess I'm kind of in a food funk lately and wanting to try so many new recipes that I have found but just not getting to them. Or, think I have everything to make but no..........there is 1 or 2 things shy of making them. Really need to restock my pantry from the holidays! On the agenda this week!

Sleep pantry full and sweet all..............as always.............

    SP Laurie!

Kimmer, the only place we are going is take GS to his mom at work. Down the same road that had the tree fall. Only a bit slower than usual.

Well, I finally found cell phone so I could change avatar. I found my keys. Remotes are missing still.

Off antidepressants for three weeks and guess what, I've been cooking. After two years of staring at the walls, it was fun to make cowboy caviar, veggie chili and meatless meatballs in mushroom gravy. I'm serving the meatballs with eggless curly noodles, cucumbers in tofu sour cream with dill and onions tomorrow before Olivia goes to work. I've got bananas that are going into vegan brownies. I'm using the Thug cookbook and detox recipes. Olivia wants to lose 40 lbs before wedding dress purchase. There was a trunk show of Maggie Sottero dresses at CC's bridal boutique. The Maggie dresses and Ingram dresses are stunning. I'm selling the convertible to buy her dress and the dessert table, plus Scotty's cigar bar.

I have to read back to see what is going on. My vision is so poor that GR fonts are very difficult to enlarge on phone. Tablet won't hold a charge, I'm wishing I had a real computer and screen for the visually impaired, my communication skills would improve.

Hugs to all, Charlie is barking up a storm, I need to get him inside asap.
