Steam Cleaning Saturday

  • LindaLMT 7 years ago
    Good Morning Everyone

Going to steam clean the floors today ... actually DH is. I'll help move things around so he can clean and that'll be it as far as cleaning goes.
Would like to get out to the store today and see if they have any steaks, I'm out. Last time I went to Publix they didn't have any NY Strips.

Nice on getting hooked up to your faster internet Shona! enjoy. Sadly I don't think A.R. will ever be the same or even close in terms of "user friendly" functionality. And they are lying if they claim the "30" something year olds approve.

Yikes on almost reaching in for eggs and grabbing a snake Karen! and good thing Fritz didn't see the mama raccoon and her babies, she would have messed him up if he went for her. Happy too to hear DD is doing well.

That's a lot of teams to participate in the tournament Michelle, and all for a good cause. Hope the little girl beats her fight against cancer and we soon hear the good news.

That's about it here. Wishing all a great weekend!

    Good morning everyone.
I really need to steam clean my floors too Linda but I'll wait until it's cooler. I love your system. I hope that you find some nice steaks.
Wow on the snake Karen. I'm not afraid of much but snakes would be at the top of the list. As Linda said, glad that Fritz didn't see the raccoon. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your DD.
Good luck with the tournament Michelle, it's for a great cause.
We are going appliance shopping this aft and then a quick stop at Costco for avocado oil. We will also visit MIL, not looking forward to that.
Have a great, relaxing day everyone.

We are guardians for an elderly woman who we had to place in a living assisted home last year. Making friends really seems to help even if it's just the same familiar face to sit and have meals with. Perhaps the staff where your MIL is staying Bren can help with that and maybe she will feel a little better being there.

Good morning (it is morning for another 12 minutes, anyhow).

Dusted and swiffered LR and swept kitchen, cleared sink (few dishes from last night), loaded DW, put washer on clean cycle and ran another load through the drier. The bathroom is a total disaster so hoping no one stops by! Aargh!

Assisted living homes are better than nursing homes, but a lot depends on the staff and ultimately the "head shed." My dad liked the assisted living section, and since it was a small town he knew some of the oldsters who were there. He had lots of visitors and that made a big difference.

I don't think we will ever have fast internet - phone lines are outdated! Satellite internet is so unreliable.

The snake was not too aggressive but was ready to strike if he was bothered. He was not as big as some. We had a 7 foot long black snake in the barn for a while, but it evidently moved on since at the time we did not have any chickens / eggs.

Am sitting in the sun room, a critter free zone. It is cloudy outside but the weather dudes removed the chances of rain they warned us about all week. Grrr! We could use some.

Horn worms (?) ruined some of the tomatoes so this morning I slathered Sevin Dust on the plants. Pitched 8 tomatoes that were totally ruined. Next year we will plant them in the other section and put up supports right away. They are far too crowded. The peppers are doing well. Even the rhubarb seems to have decided to grow, even in late August!

Am thawing some chunked wild boar from December so must use it pretty soon. I decided to use up the freezer stuff -- maybe saute green peppers, onions, tomatoes, garlic, and pour over the fried pork, then maybe make a red sauce and serve with pasta shells. Subject to change, of course.

Enough of my novella, see you all later.

    Hey everyone :)
Just came in from gardening, my strawberry patch is producing beautiful strawberries now. I picked the rest of the rhubarb, and one apple from the tree! We pruned the apple tree so much last Fall, that we only had 6 apples this year. I think I'll throw it all into pie. Thinking of making this for dinner Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak, I'd better get it in the crock now. No one feels like cooking tonight, we're in for a heat-wave this weekend!
    Have a great day/evening everybody!

    Hi Shona!
Guess I better be heading for the kitchen to decide what to fix for supper tonight - have the pork and so on thawed, just need to decide what to make with it. It is cloudy here but all rain is to the South and East - boo!
    Have a good day!

Thanks for the advice everyone. She's in assisted living now and not happy. We would like to move her to a nursing home that is geared to Italians. At least there she would be able to speak to others as she seems to be losing her ability to speak english due to dementia. At least she's now willing to go to the dining room for lunch and dinner. I just hate seeing her so unhappy.
I love the sound of your sun room Karen. I had sausage this summer made with wild boar and they were excellent. I'm sure that whatever you make will be delish.
Oh wow Shona, you are so lucky to have a strawberry patch. That looks like a good recipe. I bet DH will get all of the mushrooms, lol.

    Hi again.

Made a spaghetti with the w.b. in the sauce, No particular recipe, just concocted. It was was pretty good - even Wayne liked it!

Had to fight the stupid internet here to get on GR on the iPad.. First it "could not find the server" then when it finally did, I was logged out and it would not log me back in. So frustrating! Thought I'd have to create a new identity here like several have had to do lately. Aargh! Later I went on to the computer and all was well. Logged in as usual. No problems. Don't know why the iPad had problems but I do tend to blame our horrible, terrible internet service. Wayne has had similar problems, with his laptop and iPad. His computer is Windows and mine is MAC so it doesn't seem to discriminate!

    Have a nice evening.

I think that it's the site, not your computer Karen. A few of us couldn't log in and got the same message.
