    Good Morning Everyone.
It's overcast here this morning and we already had a sprinkling of rain, just enough to make it humid.

Dinner turned out well last night. Made scallops for me and Chilean sea bass for DH. Both made in a lemon butter sauce with parsley served over a rice blend and a salad on the side. Since I have meatloaf mix thawed I'll make meatloaf for dinner tonight.
Fireworks weren't horribly bad last night but lasted a few hours and started at dusk. My neighbors were more annoying. They had company and were outside on their lanai and were so loud. I just don't get why people have to yell standing 3 feet apart from one another. Thankfully they wrapped it up before we went to bed.
We are watching season two of 'Yellowstone' with Kevin Costner and we like it. Some scenes I can do without. Their only purpose it to shock you and they have nothing to do with the story/plot. I most enjoy the landscape and it's interesting to follow a ranching story which I'm sure isn't too far from the truth.

Glad you are managing to get medicine into Mauser Karen. I hope the dogs are not getting sick too. I too would not enjoy 'off roading'.

It's nice to enjoy some 'lazy' time Janet. Good news that Jim's dad didn't injure himself when he fell.

Morning Linda! Lucky you with the rain! Ugh on your noisy neighbours. :( I'd hate that. That's nice you guys are enjoying 'Yellowstone'.

It cooled off nicely overnight so the house cooled down but it's going to be scorching during the day for the next week at least. I made a Poached egg on toast with peameal bacon for breakfast which was super yummy.

Going to do a wee bit of house cleaning and need to change the flowers in my vases. Wishing everyone a great day.

I googled grilled Turkey breast recipes and came across this one
    https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/31813/marinated-turkey-breast/
so I think I'll try that and do a tossed salad on the side.

I wish we had peameal bacon here, it's something I would want to try.
I never had grilled turkey, do let us know how you like it. Reminds me I have a breast in the fridge that needs to be cooked soon, either tonight or tomorrow night so I can portion and have some in the freezer for hot turkey sandwiches on nights I don't feel like cooking which is often these days.

The recipe calls for boned turkey breast but I have a large one with bone in and I think I'm going to cook it that way. I always find things are juicier with a bone. LOVE me a good Hot Turkey sandwich Linda! :)

It's getting hot outside so I closed up all the windows and doors and turned the fan on. I can hear sirens and things and think something bad has happened down by the river. Brought in some daises, Pot of Gold (not sure what the real name of the shrub is) and a pink weed to freshen up my vases.

Good afternoon/evening and hello to all. Well have to say we survived the 4th ok, lol. And do have to say that the neighbors on the street behind us did put on a spectacular show. The entire street apparently pitched in. Don't know who went out of state to get them all as they are illegal to sell here but they had A LOT! About an hour and half worth. Amazing grand finale. Was just like being at a public firework show only in my backyard. There is debris all over our back and front area from them :( That's not so nice but what ya gonna do?! Some actually came right over our house! The main house that sets them off is directly behind us. Fortunately, just before dark we had a major downpour of rain. That was one thing I was really worried about as it's dry. We prepared Chloe for the night. I had seen on our little neighborhood site that this was going to happen. Even more so than normal since public ones were cancelled. Just before dark, I fed her and then shut her in our bedroom. That's her domain anyway, where she eats and has her little box. We have a seperate vanity area off to the side of the room by the bathroom, somewhat hidden from plain view, and that's where she has all her essentials. Closed the slider blinds to the pool, turned on the 2 floor fans we use in addition to ceiling fans (there are 2 ceiling fans but they don't make any noise) and then turned on the TV just a bit louder than we would normally have. She did fine. She went to the closet in the beginning but when I checked on her she had decided under the bed was ok. She wasn't shaking or anything..........just annoyed, lol! But when I stood in the room with all the booms going off, it really did make a difference. You could still hear it but was way more muffled and less scary. And having the bedroom door shut helped a lot. It's a thick, heavy door. When we close that at night we don't hear anything going on in the house if the boys are still up and about. Most of the sound she heard came in from the sliders.

I don't fix too much turkey other than Thanksgiving. Might try some turkey breasts to have on hand though. Sounds like such an easy meal. Will Jim be back tomorrow Janet?

Having steak and scallops here tonight. Going to make a huge fresh salad with fresh stuff I got yesterday at the store. Might do a potato packet. Pondering that right now, lol.

Hope all enjoy the rest of this Sunday and Sleep Sweet All..................as always.............
