Tasty Tuesday!

    Good Morning ODD!
Thought it was supposed to be nice and sunny out today but it's cool this morning and kind of looks like it may be a repeat of yesterday.
Got bit by a wasp/hornet on Saturday on the back of my ankle. Was okay 'til last night and now it's swelling up a bit, itchy and hot. Darn bugs. :)
Today we don't have any appointments for Mom. I was going to bring her into town and out for lunch but just got a message from Best Buy saying they're coming over between 12:45-2:45 to adjust our TV set as we've had it now for whatever the amount of time it is before they come and do some final adjusting of the colour and what not. So that pretty much falls right into the lunch time time frame.
Contractor coming over today to do the final touch ups on the back splash and then he's starting on the antique railing Jim and I bought last year, to install it on the stair railing in our front foyer. So that will be fun.
Mom did well during the Lithotripsy yesterday although she's feeling it a bit today. We were in the Hospital for 7 1/2 hours though so it truly makes for a long day. Stopped on the way home and picked up Chinese food for dinner as well as the DVD "Bridesmaids" which she hadn't seen.
Jim arrived in Cambridge safe and sound and sent me pics of the place he's staying at which overlooks the River Cam. Nice view and he had two swans swimming just in front of his window. :) He got a better sleep last night and went to a nice Indian restaurant we'd been to before for dinner so he's getting settled.
Benj sent me a bunch of pictures yesterday which was lovely. I posted some on Facebook but will also post one year so those who aren't on FB can see. The pic below is of the restaurant Benj goes to for breakfast every day.
How cool on the "Fairy Garden" Joce. I've never heard of that. Thanks for your tips on how to follow Tina's blog. I think I managed to hit the right button. :) That's so nice of you to invite that lady to help herself to some of your Hostas. :)
Tina, hope you got some sleep! :)
LOL Laurie @ Joy and the turtle. There's a lot around here at the moment too. Must be turtle season. :)
Yum on your crock pot enchiladas Marie. And how lucky for the Siamese to have turned up on your doorstep where it will certainly end up in a loving place whether it be your house or your parents, if the owner can't be found. I've no experience with Siamese at all but I've always thought they were very regal.
Okay.....let's get this day moving. Gonna go get some brekkie.
Make it a good one everybody!
Think I'm going to try a new soup recipe today:
    Polish Dill Pickle Soup

Janet, Yes it is a tab bit cool today and I think they said it was only going to hit 70F as a high today but that is perfect for me and it is suppose to continue to be like that for the next few days. It is really good weather for working outside which makes me smile:) Ugh on the wasp/hornet bit be careful with that. Neat on the antique railing I remember when you bought it last summer and I was wondering what you were going to do with it. Glad your Mom's procedure went well and maybe it is a good thing for her that you are hanging around home today. Good luck with the TV adjustment and things getting done around the house today. Glad you heard from Jim and Ben as well.

Tina, I hope you slept well last night and hopefully this is your last shift today. Happy TGIT! You can do it think of that big pay cheque that is coming sending big Hugs)))

I should get moving as the lady will be here soon and I am being lazy and still in my housecoat. Not certain what we are having for dinner tonight at the moment but there is lots of time to think about that yet.

Try to make it a fun day!

You're right Joce....it is nice for working out in the garden and I totally don't mind it either. Mom feels the cold right through her bones though so she's wearing her coat inside the house which makes me feel bad but I truly don't want to turn the heat on as then I'll melt. :)
Started up the soup. The base is chicken broth, chopped potatoes, carrots and celery so smells really yummy.

Oh Janet, thank you so much for the link to that soup. I can't wait to give it a try. yummy is right. I did get a bit of sleep but today is speeding by so fast. Time to get ready for work. Hope your repairs go smoothly today!

Joce, this is my TGIT day. I'm trying to keep the 50 to 60 hour work week pace while I can so I can make a major dent in the medical bills we have piled up. Although that pace might make me keel over. I'm so primed with coffee right now, the whole room shakes. LOL Love the Fairy Garden. I like butterfly bush very pretty.

Taking tacos to work, I don't know how they will fare in a thermos. We will see.
Marie, I love the Mexican foods. I've got to try that recipe as well.

Hugs to all, the cable guy is here. I gotta go,

Janet, I think you mentioned you have a or a few Polar Fleece sweaters? Maybe your Mom would feel more comfortable and cozier in one of those in the house than her coat? I find when I am chilled to the bone like that they help more than anything else. Just a suggestion:) I was outside working with a sweat shirt on and when the sun went behind a cloud I did feel chilly as well. The lady came but could not dig up the Hostas today but she was very pleased with what she saw. She is managing a construction site of a new condo that is being built and she has so many meeting etc. and personal problems right now keeping her occupied. We will wait until she has dug up the boarder around her patio now before we proceed. Oh well at least they are going to a good home eventually.

Tina, Hope your day continues to be a speedy one:)

I still don't know what we are having for dinner. It is such a nice day not humid at all! Which is strange for us, so I am going to continue putting mulch down where Den left the bags for me. Taking a wee break then out I go again!

Tina...the soup is TO DIE FOR! Just wrote it up in IMI. For anyone who likes Dill pickles...making this soup is a must! Good luck with your OT.
Joce, I googled the butterfly bush and showed it to my Mom too. She enjoyed hearing about your adventures at the Fairy Garden. :) The Buddleja is gorgeous! LOL @ Mom and her coats and fleeces. I do have some fleece jackets she could totally wear. I'll suggest it but I am taking bets she won't accept. Sounds like you had quite a chat with the Hosta lady. :)

Hello out there. Just got a pot roast into the crockpot. That was supposed to be dinner last night but Mr. SuchAFuss was traveling. When he got home he came up with the excellent dinner idea of chicken and bacon sandwiches. I had one good sized chicken breast left from the roast on Friday. It was marvelous.
Current plan is to go out and start on a front yard project to liberate a captive Majestic Beauty Hawthorn from its bondage by Florida Irises. The irises are pretty but every few years extreme discipline is required. They creep out on you and are painful to dig up. It will be good for me.
