Good Morning on this hot steamy day. It's already 89(f) in the shade. Uffff! the dog days of summer are here for sure.

I cooked a turkey breast overnight in the crockpot and already have it cleaned up and in the fridge for later. LD says it came out great!

Will need to go to Costco either later today or Thursday/Friday. Need a few food items we get there. I'm good with the household items so it'll be an easy shop.

I misunderstood my neighbor yesterday. The generator will not run if he hooks up other things to run off of the propane which is good. Not sure why he would want to do that because propane isn't cheap and I would think costs just as much as electric but then again I could be wrong. Just doesn't seem worth the effort to go thru running lines etc. and then having to watch your gas level and have a truck come out to upload more continually.
Hips are still bothering me and chiro has helped a little but not enough. Feels like sciatica. Looked up stretches and stuff to help and it'll just take some time.

The rabbit virus, even though not here in Florid, is bad because most hay grown is grown in the states where it has appeared. There is no way to know if a wild rabbit who has contracted the disease carried it to a hay field. It spreads worse than COVID and is 99.9% fatal.

That's sad they wouldn't take Jim's blood because he had poison ivy Janet. I guess if you are not the picture of perfect health they won't take you?

I agree with you Karen the reason RV sales are up and then the resales will follow once people conclude it's not for them. How are the critters feeling?

Nom, Nom on the turkey breast Linda! We just returned from Costco ourselves. Sorry to hear you're still getting some pain in your hips. I thought Sciatica was more of a back thing but I honestly don't know. The Chiro didn't offer any suggestions or exercises for you? Wow on the dire results over the rabbit disease. Horrible. The nurse who told Jim he couldn't donate blood told him that if he had any of the poison ivy still in his system it registers as some sort of sexually transmitted disease which would show up once they tested it. LOLOLOL. And she said he wouldn't want that on his record. LOLOLOL. It's quite common here for people to run different appliances off of propane if they are heating with it. My Aunt Irene has a propane stove I think and tons of people run another line to their BBQ which I think is a great idea as it saves you lugging tanks here and there on a regular basis.

Any more raccoons today Karen? Wink. :) I heard cottages have been hot commodities with the Coronavirus here too. Same reason as why trailer sales are up I suspect.

Jim and I decided to have our morning coffee outside since it's been too hot to go out later in the day. We had our first cup in the Orchard and then our second cup at the side of the house which overlooks the stream bed (which is dry as a bone_. We could watch the Wrens go in and out of the nest box from our chairs and it was lovely.

Then we got cleaned up and decided to go to McDonald's Drive-Thru for brekkie. Egg McMuffins and hash browns for both of us. On to Walmart where I grabbed a couple of items. I saw Campbell's 'Cream of Bacon' soup for the very first time in my life and bought it just because. Have you ever heard of that??? No clue what to do with it but I couldn't resist. LOLOL.

Then last stop was Costco. Their Kumato tomatoes are the best apart from fresh ones in season so I got two more packs. Bought some pre-made Butter chicken that we're going to try for dinner. Never had it before. Bought a 3' x 4' mat for the Rainy River house entrance, some raspberries and goldenberries. Also got the propane tank refilled.

As we were emptying the car the Doe and her new fawn crossed the lawn. Too darn cute, honest to goodness.

I have my Bookchat on Zoom in an hour. There weren't many copies in the library so the majority of us weren't able to read it but the woman who is facilitating the Chat is basically going to do a talk on it. Supposedly the author was born in Ottawa and lives in Merrickville which isn't far away. He's a photo-journalist. The book is called 'The Ancient Tea Horse Road'. I think it'll be very cool.

Hi Linda. Have a fun Cosco trip.

It is 87 here and humid. Allegedly storms tonight but who knows! The weekend will be HOT HOT and HOT, temps in the mid nineties. Ugh!

I haven't heard if MO has the rabbit virus. We see bunnies all over and they are happily doing their bunny thing.

I do know of a 2002 Class A for sale, well maintained, $29,000. But it is 38 ft long, too long for our liking. Plus towing a car behind!

Critters are better. Mel is on the road to recovery. Mauser isn't getting the full medicine dose so she may not be doing as well as we hoped. She is quite the cat.

    SP Janet.

Cream of bacon soup is new to me, but I seldom buy canned soups so it may have been available and I didn't notice it. Sounds intriguing.

A thunderstorm is passsing over us and temps dropped to 74 F. NICE and cool.

So funny on the poison ivy showing up in the blood stream as an STD. No, Jim doesn't want that on his record.

Storm is lessening and rain is letting up.

Another black snake was in the chicken coop. Wayne's buddy took it about quarter mile away to the creek at the lower hay field. They evidently don't have a large area to roam about, so it should be at home in that part of the field. Lots of field mice and shelter. The guys have to find and plug the entrance so we can get eggs again. The snakes are eating them instead of us -- LOL!

Really glad to hear the cats and Fritz are feeling better Karen. Hope Mauser just drinks up some of those meds and is done with it!!!! Yikes on the snake in the chicken coop. The chickens must freak! How many eggs on average do you get (if there's no snakes around) :)

The Book Chat was fun and then Jim and I went out for a hot tub and then sat on the patio set after which was nice and cool in the shade with a bit of a breeze.

Good evening and hello to all. It was a hot steamy day up here as well Linda. Sounds like you had a good shop Janet. Yum on breakfast! I don't believe I've seen the cream of bacon. hhhmmm will have to take a look later this week when at the store. I had a cat once that was like Mauser Karen. One time when she did need meds my hubs would have to hold her down, hold her head somewhat up and I would shoot the meds down her throat with a syringe. It was quite a sight! Then she would be mad at us all day, lol.

We are having our friends that we go out to dinner with every month (well used too, lol) over Saturday night for a full fondue. We've chatted on the phone but haven't seen each other since late February. That was our last time together before the pandemic hit and things started closing. They are our closest friends and we are all excited! Will start doing things together again now I'm sure. Even if it's just between our house or theirs. They love our fondues!

Well, I have some news. Since Michael couldn't come home for Easter, he was hoping to get down here the first of August. Unfortunately, with our spikes in cases the military will not allow him to travel to Florida, or any other state with a large increase in cases. He can however travel to Tennessee, which is where his home and son are, and North Carolina. So we are going to meet up with him in North Carolina. We will fly out of here early July 31st. and return the evening of the 4th of August. To drive is out of the question like we have done before. It's a 10 hour drive and would take 2 whole days away from our visit. I'm a bit nervous about flying, given the covid circumstance, but it's been over a year since I saw him and if we don't do this now, it could be yet another year before I see him. I can't do that! He will pick up Wyatt in Tennessee, then travel to the cabin in North Carolina that the other side of the family (my ex's inlaws) own. My ex and his wife will be there too. And, and so will Wyatt's mother! Which is curious on a whole different level, lol! We will see how that all plays out, lol! She is coming seperate and letting Michael bring Wyatt down. She is a very sweet, sweet person. I am looking forward to meeting her! We have chatted on the phone before and she sends me texts with pictures of Wyatt nearly every week, which I so appreciate. What will be curious is to see her and Michael around each other. :) We were invited to stay at the cabin as there is room but we chose not too. Not that there is any ill fillings between us, there really isn't. We even Christmas fondue together. Hubs and I, especially Hubs, just aren't comfortable staying at someone else's home for that long of a time. He likes his own bathroom, his own tv and the like. As do I. If it were just for a night then we might have considered it. Plus, my ex and his wife drink..........a lot! And we don't. We like our evening cocktails on occasion and I love my nightly wine but that's about it. They seem to drink till they drop, especially on vaca so no..........see ya in the morning lol! This is where we are staying https://theridgesresort.com/ which is actually in Young Harris,Georgia but is on the border and only 5 miles from their cabin in NC. As far as I know, Michael is allowed in Georgia so he and Wyatt will be able to come there too. We have not booked anything yet as Michael is waiting for his final approval of his trip. Hoping he gets that today.

Well, since I wrote a novel...........it's Tuesday...........and yes, even though full fondue on Saturday............cheese happens tonight, lol. Sleep Sweet All................as always.........
