What's on your docket for Wed.?

Even though it is no where near summer time in my neck of the woods, here is this morning's musical intro. I read online that Ella Fitzgerald was born on this day 100 years ago. Love that lady's voice!!!

The other thing I read was that a woman is stuck on a crane in downtown Toronto. Here's the link. How she managed to get herself up there and down that cable with no gloves I can't even imagine. Hope she'll be okay. I suspect she's got some mental troubles.

It rained overnight and is supposed to rain more this morning with sun and clouds this afternoon. Jim and I are planning on heading out for a jaunt but haven't decided where yet. :) I have some leftover Beef Dip in the freezer so I think I'll take that out to thaw as it'll be easy to just reheat this evening when we get home.

Hope the weather co-operates with your travel plans Karen! Oh dear on the robin that attack your daughter's car! I feel her pain. :)

Jim's nephew is flying to Corpus Christi, Texas tomorrow to pack up Jim's Dad and drive him back home for the summer. They expect to arrive in St. Catharines by Sunday so it'll be a long three days of driving!

Did I tell you that the girls found my squirrel feeder on Easter weekend that had disappeared from the tree in the front yard, pulley, rope and all? They found it in the stream bed at the back of the property....probably about 200 feet from where it was hung initially. There were a few turkey feathers nearby so they think it was a turkey that got tangled. Thankfully it got loose. :)

Wishing everyone a most lovely Hump Day.

    Good Morning!
I love Ella Fitzgerald too, Janet. Glad to hear the woman was rescued. Interesting the girls found your feeder and everything so far away from where it was. I guess you will never know the whole story but I am glad the girls found it. I don't envy Jim's nephew driving such a long drive at all. The beef dip sounds really good to me. Enjoy your jaunt today. In answer to your question yesterday about the Escorts on the front page. They had the same add up a couple of months ago and nothing was done about it. It just seems like they have someone putting up the main page feature every day in GR and that is about as far as it goes.
Have a safe trip, Karen and I hope you aren't flooded out.

I am not sure what I am making for dinner yet.I will have to think about that. Last night we ended up having ribs and rice which was very good.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi Joce! I suspect the main page feature is just computer generated. A shame about the ads. :( It does detract. Yum on ribs and rice. Sounds deelish. I think I heard something about a maple festival going on in Perth?

Oh wow, glad the woman on the crane was rescued! And yay on the girls finding the squirrel feeder! Hopefully the turkey got away unscathed. Enoy your jaunt, yum on beef dip!

Hi Joce, I left a comment on that escort recipe if anyone wants to flag it. I hope they didn't pay to advertise here :/ Who knows who owns this site anymore! I wonder if we should look for a back up place to have ODD, just in case? I guess the Facebook group would be the obvious place to meet up if we lose this site. But I would hope we could find another foodie site. Many sites have forums, but I like the "groups" better. I can only hope someone buys this site and rejuvenates it for the better!

Nothing going on today, just some grocery shopping and laundry to do. I didn't use the turkey sausages yesterday, so I'll use those up tonight for dinner. I have to check the flyers and go over my list and meal plan.
This is my favorite food site, it's like Pinterest where you can follow people. All the famous Chef's are on here as well as many Food Bloggers and everyday people. You can add recipes, comment on peoples recipes, but there is no forum to chat. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone loves to look at Food like me, lol ;)

Have a great day everyone! :)

Jim and I have decided to go on a jaunt to a place called Blakeney just outside Almonte. The guy that owns the Brewery Jim brought his brother to last Saturday told us about it and said there were some nice waterfalls and trails there. I need to buy my Mom a Mother's Day gift as well so I can mail it off and it has time to reach her and I need a few things at the grocery store. Not sure what we'll do for lunch.

That's great you joined Janet! I follow quite a few people, like Wolfgang Puck, Cat Cora, and my favorite Food Republic (which is a great culinary website too!).
Enjoy your trip to Blakeney :)

I found a recipe for minestrone soup with turkey sausage, so that sounds like dinner tonight :D

Yes, The Festival of The Maples is going on in Perth this weekend, Janet. It is our Maple Syrup Festival. It will be crazy here on Saturday especially.
I signed up as well, Shona but at the moment the site seems like it is locked up. I will try it again tomorrow. I hope it is fixed by then.

Yum on soup Shona! I'm excited to bop around the Foodily site and see what there is. I like that you can follow people.

We had a super nice day. Blakeney is a gorgeous little place. I'd never heard of it before. The trails were SO nice near the Falls and I took a zillion pictures. Jim and I went for our workout this morning before breakfast and now after doing the hiking trails as well we're hurtin' a little. Hot tub time soon!

Had lunch in Almonte. Soup (homemade Beef Barley) and sandwich (I had a grilled cheese and bacon and Jim had a Toasted Western) for $6.95. Such good value.

Found my Mom two shirts and will also send her a Cherry Blossom chocolate (her fave) and a little pkg. with a beeswax candle and some drambuie honey. (She likes drambuie). Ran all our errands AND I found agar-agar! I checked Bulk Barn and a Health Food store earlier. The Health Food store wanted $16.99 for a bottle of it (maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of a cup? the recipe for the balsamic pearls calls for a 'scant' tsp. so I don't need a lot. Decided to check our little Chinese grocery store and she had little envelopes of it for $2.19. HURRAY!!!!

Just a quick hello to all. Busy, busy day today. Will have to read back a bit. Do see, since it's right above my post Janet, that you had a very productive jaunt today.

Don't feel and not much time for a big production meal tonight so having BLT's and tomato soup. Need to use up my last tomato and lettuce is starting to whine at me anyway so good plan all around. Tomorrow will be grocery day!

Enjoy the rest of the evening all.

Hi. We are settled in but haven't heard from any of the group yet. Hope they didn't all decide not to come. Drove through heavy rain, our area has flash flood warnings out, none in this part of MO. The RV park is small, new owners, clean, modern, easiest hookup we ever had. It is cold and rainy, hopefully will be clear tomorrow before reverting to more rain.

Agree the site needs new owners .... will look up foodily .... hi to all.

Glad you had a good first day of travels Karen. Yikes on the heavy rain and flash flood warnings. Glad the park is a good one. Hope some more people show up by morning. Do you all start at one spot and then move on to the next spot together? Convoy? :)

    Probably.
We are both tired and slept an hour after dinner. Got to bed at 2 last night bec did not want to finish loading the RV in the rain. Too old to take these late nights any more.
