Seeking Columbian Recipe "AR-ay-KEE-pah"?

  Many moons ago, a friend who was born in Bogota, Columbia to missionary parents intro'd me to this wonder dessert. I seem to think it was either condensed milk or evaporated milk cooked in a double boiler for HOURS til very thick and sweet. Then you would dip fruit into it and just DIE. I hope the phoenetic spelling helps? Thanx - mouth watering just thinking of it!
