Another smart teen!

My son was around 14 and he was and still is a bit of a smart aleck even though he's almost 30 now and one night he came into the kitchen while I was mixing up some cake grease (actually I think that it is called "Cake Release". I used to buy this stuff at a cake decorating store but even back then it cost close to 5 bucks for a 16oz container and all it was is shortening and flour and oil. Anyway I was in the kitchen mixing this up and and in walks my son and says what are you doing? I tell him that I was making cake grease, he says it looks like icing to him. I said well it's not and he says that he's gonna taste and see for himself. I said you'd better not cause you won't like it. He does it anyway and then spends the next half hour trying to get the greasy taste and feel out of his mouth. He still claims to this day that I mislead him because although my words said he wouldn't like it, my tone was different. I still chuckle at the look on his face when he put that big fingerful of cake grease in his mouth. I did tell him though....not my fault if he didn't listen....

My mom always had cake grease in the fridge, and I too thought is was icing and made the mistake of tasting it one summer while I was home alone. YUK! That was when I still knew everything!
