RE: Spitzkuchen
Someone asked for a translation of a German recipe. I asked a German friend to give it a go and the above is what she came up with.
She said it sounds really good so she will be keeping a copy for herself.

Printed it out
We were away for a few days. I cannot tell you how happy I was to discover this update to my search today when I got back to my own computer. Nor can I begin to thank you for your time and trouble on my behalf.

I hope you and your family and friends find wonderful memories to associate with these wonderful cookies, too.

Borinda
After looking at what someone else came up with for bits of translation, I think the pimento in my translation could possibly be allspice. It does sound appropriate, unless spicy for you was something more on the peppery side.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

RE: Spitzkuchen
I'll make them as soon as I unpack all of my paraphernalia after the move and definitely let you know how great these are.

I remember my grandmother teaching my daughter to count in German but that's pretty much "it" for me by the time we get to five.

RE: Spitzkuchen
Eins, zwei, drei, fier, funf, sechs, sieben, acht, neun, zehn, elf, zwolf..........

I do hope the recipe is one that is similar. It does sound interesting, even if it might not be.

Funf
Yes, it was funf that had my daughter literally under the table laughing hysterically when my mother, grandmother, and I took her out for lunch on her fifth birthday. "Funf" always makes me smile.
