CORN AND SAUSAGE CHOWDER Recipe
Here is a cheap and easy soup you can throw together but get a bang of flavor. You can use spicy sausage or any flavor you like. It if very filling and so simple.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound mild bulk sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups cream style corn
  • 2 cups whole kernel corn
  • 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk

Directions
  1. Crumble sausage into pieces and brown in skillet.
  2. Remove sausage from skillet leaving drippings; place sausage in large pot.
  3. Sauté onions in the sausage drippings. Add onions, potatoes, salt, pepper, basil and water to the cooked sausage.
  4. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in corn and evaporated milk.
  5. Cover and heat thoroughly.
  6. I use sweet mild Italian sausage and remove the casings and crumble and brown.
