Garlicky Chicken

- Soak claypot or rommeltopf in hot water for 30 mins shopping list
- 1 large free range chicken cut into serving pieces shopping list
- 3/4 cup extra virgin olive olive shopping list
- 40 cloves of garlic unpeeled shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh black pepper coarse grind shopping list
- 1/2 bunch of fresh thyme shopping list
- 1/2 cup white wine shopping list
- 1 french baguette shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375 deg f. trim any extra chicken fat. sprinkle with salt and pepper. put 2 tablesppons of olve oil in deep frying pan and fry chicken pieces with skin side down for 3 minutes till slightly browned. do same for the other side... empty claypot of water. put in the chicken,fresh thyme,splash wine and olive oil and toss to coat all the chcken pieces.tuck in the garlic cloves between the chicken pieces. cover with aluminum foil and put lid on top tightly.
- put in oven and cook for 65-70 minutes. mean time toast the sliced baguette pieces.. serve chicken and garlic cloves squeezed on the toasted bread......
- it is not as garlicky as one might think........eat this meal with your really loved ones with few bottles of ''sancerre'' and next morning every one wont remember a thing except they all had a super meal ......and would love to finsh the leftovers if any
