How to make it

  • Dough:
  • Blend butter and cream cheese.
  • Cut in flour and mix well.
  • Divide pastry in half and roll into balls.
  • Wrap in wax paper and chill for four hours.
  • Roll pastry between two sheets of wax paper to 1/4" thickness.
  • Remove top layer of wax paper and cut into 2 1/2" rounds.
  • Filling:
  • Soften feta with cream.
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Place 1 tsp filling at one side of the round and fold over; seal edges.
  • Continue with remaining rounds.
  • Brush each turnover with egg yolk that is lightly beaten with 1 Tbsp heavy cream.
  • Prick tops of turnovers with fork.
  • Place on lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve warm.
