Apple And Blackberry Cake

From Martha Stewart Living Magazine . recipe adapted for a nice cake that features apples and blackberries. I also saw it posted on a blog and a tester who made it said it was delcious I would sub perhaps blueberries or raspberries also- as I dislike berry seeds !
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 6 Tbs butter plus 2 more Tbs shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar plus 2 more Tbs shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 4 small apples , peeled cut into wedges shopping list
- 1 cup fresh blackberries shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the dry ingredients except the sugar
- Melt 6 Tbs butter and mix into the milk and brown sugar and then add the beaten eggs.
- Spread mixture into a 9 inch round cake pan dusted with sugar
- Layer on the apples ( press gently over batter ) and sprinkle berries over the apples
- Combine the 2 Tbs brown sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle over the berries
- Dot with the remaining 2 Tbs butter
- Bake in a 375F oven about 55 minutes or tested done ( and apples are tender )
- Serve warm or room temperature with whipped cream
