yummy healthy apple oat bars

- 2 cups wholemeal SR flour shopping list
- 1 tsp bi-carb soda shopping list
- 2 tsp allspice shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup rolled oats shopping list
- 1/3 cup sultanas shopping list
- 2 apples, grated shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- ½ cup yoghurt shopping list
- ¼ cup yoghurt juice* shopping list
- 1/3 cup honey shopping list
How to make it
- - Preheat oven to 150°C (300F)
- - In a large bowl, mix together flour, soda, spices, oats, sultanas and apple.
- - In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients.
- - Add wet mixture to dry mixture and, using a metal spoon, fold to gently combine. Don’t overmix.
- - Spoon into a lined 16 x 28 cm pan and bake for 40-50 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
- - Cool completely before slicing.

- * yoghurt juice is the watery liquid that collects on the surface of natural-set yoghurt. I make my own yoghurt, so i always pour-off the juice (whey) and save it for baking. Its great in place of buttermilk.
- If you dont have yoghurt juice, you can sub apple juice OR ommit it and the yoghurt and use 3/4 cup of buttermilk instead.
