No-Fail Sweet Tea Recipe
Sweet tea isn't iced tea with a little sugar in it. Sweet tea is sweet. That's why it's called sweet tea. This is the way my parents made it, and the advantage is that it's ready to drink as soon as you make it. My pitcher holds 2 quarts, so I'll use... More

Ingredients
  • 1 qt. water
  • 5 teabags (or use loose if you want)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ice

Directions
  1. Bring the water to a boil, add the sugar and the tea. Let it steep until it's twice as strong as you want the end product to be (that's the trick).
  2. Fill your pitcher to the top with ice. Stir the tea to make sure all the sugar is dissolved, and pour over the ice into the pitcher. The tea will melt the ice and exactly fill the pitcher -- and if you steeped it twice as strong as you wanted it, will be perfect.
