- 2 1/2 - 3 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
- 1 package 1/4 oz active dry yeast shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons shortening shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tablespoon paprika shopping list
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1/2cup butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- in a large bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- in a saucepan heat milk, water, and shortening until warm not a rolling boil about 120 dergees
- add milk mixture to dry mixture beat until moistened. add egg and beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic about 6-8 minutes. do not let rise.
- divide into 12 pieces and shape each piece into a roll.
- combine paprika and gralic powder. dip each roll into melted butter then top with paprika mixture.
- place 6 buns down in a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. sprinkle with remaining butter and paprika mixture. then top with remaining buns and more butter and paprika mixture.
- cover and then rise for about 45 minutes in a warm place or until it's double in size.
- bake at 375 for 30-35 mintues
- remove from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack
