Ma Po Tofu

- 1 Block firm tofu shopping list
- 1/4-1/2 lb ground pork or beef shopping list
- 1 t chopped garlic shopping list
- 1 T chopped green onion shopping list
- 1 T hot soy bean paste shopping list
- 1 t pepper shopping list
- 2 T soy sauce shopping list
- 1 t salt shopping list
- 2 t cornstarch and 2 t water to make a paste shopping list
- 1 C stock shopping list
- 1 t sesame oil shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Press the tofu with a weight for half an hour to remove water.
- Slice the tofu into half inch cubes and fry in very hot oil for 30 seconds (you could boil it briefly if you want to avoid the oil).
- Remove all but 3 T oil in the wok, reheat, and fry the ground pork well.
- Add garlic, hot bean paste, soy sauce, salt, stock, and bean curd. Boil for 3 minutes.
- Thicken with corn starch paste, then sprinkle with sesame oil and pepper.
