Sweet Potato Casserole with Sausage

A different spin on Thanksgiving sweet potatoes. It also works well for breakfast! Sprinkle with cinnamon for extra flavor if desired.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lean ground sausage shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. thinly sliced apples shopping list
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c. milk shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 c. cooked, mashed sweet potatoes shopping list
How to make it
- Press sausage in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole dish.
- Arrange apple slices atop sausage.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Add milk and salt to mashed sweet potatoes and beat until light and fluffy.
- Cover apple slices with sweet potato mixture and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
- Serve very hot.
