Easy Apple Pie Foldover

- 1-1/2 c thinly sliced,peeled apples (1-1/2 med.) shopping list
- 1/4 c packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2 Tbs water shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon juice shopping list
- 1 Tbs flour shopping list
- 1 Tbs sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 Tbs butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 refrigerated pie crust (from 15oz. box) shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
How to make it
- In 2 qt. saucepan, mix apples,brown sugar,1 Tbs of the water and the lemon juice. Cook over med. heat,stirring occasionallly,until bubbly. Reduce heat to low,cover and cook 6 to 8 mins,stirring occasionally until apples are tender.
- In small bowl. mix flour,granulated sugar and salt. Gradually stir in to apple mixture,cooking and stirring until mixture thickens.
- Meanwhile,heat oven to 375 degrees. Let pie crust stand at room temperature for 15 mins.
- Remove crust from pouch;unroll onto ungreased cookie sheet. Spoon cooled fruit evenly over haf of crust to within 1/2" of edge.
- In small bowl,beat egg and 1 Tbs water;brush over edge of crust. Fold untopped half over apple mixture;firmly press edge to seal. Flute edge;cut small slits in several places in top crust. Brush top with remaining egg mixture.
- Bake 25 to 35 mins. or till crust is golden brown. Serve warm or cool.
