How to make it

  • Mix and knead the dough ingredients into a soft dough
  • Let rise in a warm place about 1 1/2 hours or almost doubled
  • Turn it out to a lightly gresed surface and roll out into a 14 x 22 inch rectangle
  • Mix the cinnamon filling and water ( thick filling ) and spread it over the dough leaving one short edge free of filling
  • Sprinkle with the crytalized ginger or deired fruit
  • Starting with short end that is covered roll into a log
  • Cut log into 9, 1 1/2 inch rolls
  • Place in a greased bun pan
  • Let rise covered 1 hour or till puffy
  • Bake in a preheated 375 oven until rolls are lightly browned about 25 to 30 minutes
  • Turn out rolls onto a rack
  • let cool 15 minutes
  • Make the glaze by heating butter and milk and whisk in sugar when butter melts
  • Drizzle over rolls
  • Note: you really don't need to use the pre-packaged cinnamon filling if you have your own bun filling recipe .
