Brownie Cake with Raspberry Glaze

- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate broken up shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter cut up shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 2 eggs beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts shopping list
- 3/4 cup fresh raspberries for topping shopping list
- Raspberry Glaze: shopping list
- 1 pint raspberries shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
- 3 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tablespoon crème de cassis shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In small pan over low heat melt chocolate with butter stirring often then let cool slightly.
- In another bowl mix sugar, flour and baking powder.
- Stir in eggs and chocolate mixture.
- Add vanilla and nuts and stir well then pour into well oiled and floured 9-inch pie plate.
- Bake for 30 minutes and allow to cool slightly on wire rack.
- Invert on cake plate and let cool completely.
- About 1 hour before serving spread glaze on top then arrange raspberries over top.
- To make glaze puree raspberries in blender then place puree in fine mesh sieve.
- Using a spatula force through pulp and discard seeds.
- Transfer pulp to a small pan and add sugar.
- In a small bowl or cup stir together cornstarch and water and stir into pan.
- Bring to boil and stir until sauce is clear and slightly thick then remove from heat.
- Cool slightly then add lemon juice and crème de cassis.
