  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups finely chopped hickory nuts or pecans
  • Desired candied fruit pieces

Directions
  1. 1. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in mixing bowl with an electric mixer until soft peaks form (tips bend over). Gradually add sugar, beating at high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold in flour and nuts.
  2. 2. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a parchment-paper-lined cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 5 to 7 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; press a piece of candied fruit into the top of each cookie. Remove and cool on wire rack.
