Sloppy Joes with a Kick

- 1/4 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 1/2 medium onions, chopped shopping list
- 2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef or turkey shopping list
- 2 cups ketchup shopping list
- 3/4 cups Dijon style mustard shopping list
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium) shopping list
- 1/8 cup worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (or more if you like) shopping list
- 1/3 cup packed light or dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder shopping list
- 15 sandwich buns shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat
- Add onions and cook, stirring until tender, about 5 or so minutes
- Add ground meat and cook, breaking up large clumps, until no longer pink
- Drain or spoon off excess fat or liquid
- Mix the rest of the ingredients (except of course the buns) in a bowl and stir into meat
- Continue to cook, stirring, until mixture is thick, about 5-8 minutes
- TO WARM BUNS
- Place the buns in a single layer on a baking sheet and heat on 325 until warm
