Pleasant Pesto Recipe
Pesto is a green paste like topping that you can add to pretty much anything: bread, pasta, rice, whatever. It is especially wonderful with homegrown basil.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 C olive oil
  • 1/4 C pinenuts or slivered almonds
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 C basil leaves
  • 3/4 C parmesan cheese

Directions
  1. Blend with a good blender. Add 1 cup of basil leaves at a time.
  2. Press into small jars and freeze.

Sounds good...I have some homegrown basil...


I put my pesto into ice cube trays to freeze. That way you have easy one or two-serving sizes that you can use as you need without having to thaw a whole jar's worth. It also makes a delicious pizza sauce!
