BAKED SPARERIBS WITH BARBEQUE SAUCE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hayden Estate in Caddo Mills, Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 2 racks spareribs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups catsup
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Bring a large kettle of water to boil and add the rack of spareribs.
  3. Parboil about 2 minutes then drain well and pat dry with paper towels.
  4. Place spareribs on rack in a roasting pan meaty side up and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Place in oven and bake 30 minutes or until nicely browned.
  6. Meanwhile combine remaining ingredients and bring to boil stirring occasionally.
  7. Brush ribs with sauce and bake 15 minutes longer then turn and brush with sauce.
  8. Bake 15 minutes longer then cut into 2 rib pieces and serve with remaining sauce.
