German Short Ribs

- 3 1/2 lb beef short ribs shopping list
- 2 tbl flour shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/8 tsp pepper shopping list
- 2 tbl shortening shopping list
- 2 med onions sliced shopping list
- 1/2 cup dry red wine shopping list
- 1/2 cup chili sauce shopping list
- 3 tbl brown sugar shopping list
- 3 tbl vinegar shopping list
- 1 tbl worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard shopping list
- 1/2 tsp chili powder shopping list
- 2 tbl flour shopping list
- cooked spatzle(kept warm) shopping list
How to make it
- Coat ribs in mixture of 2 T flour with salt and pepper.
- Brown on all sides.
- In crockpot combine the ribs and the rest of the ingredients except for the 2 T flour.
- Cook on low for 9 hrs.
- Turn control to high . Thicken with 2 T flour mixed with a little water. Cook on high for 15 minutes.
- Serve over spatzle.
- Garnish with braised chilis.
