Brown Sugar Turkey Brine Recipe
I have started brining my turkey to help make the white meat juicier. You start this the day before. This recipe is for a 16 lb turkey.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup kosher salt
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 4 quarts cold water

Directions
  1. In a large stew pot, bucket or brining bag, dissolve the salt and sugar in the water.
  2. Submerge turkey then cover the pot, bucket or seal the bag.
  3. Refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours. (overnight is what I do)
  4. When ready to roast, remove turkey, rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  5. For extra flavor you can rub with cushed garlic, cummin, corriander.and peppercorns.
  6. Bake at 325 for 4 hours.
