Treasuer Pound Cake

Must be a million pound cake recipes out there but this one is fine grained and delicious. I make it and serve as the base for strawberry shortcake. Also good to give as gifts
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups Crisco shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- ` tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon extract shopping list
How to make it
- Cream crisco and sugar well
- Add eggs one at a time. beat throughly
- Add dry ingredients alternately wit milk, beat well.
- Add flavoring and beat well
- Do not underbeat
- Note: you can really BEAT out some frustration with this recipe!
- Bake in 10 " greased and floured pan or two 5x7 bread pans for about 1 hr to 1 hr and 15 minutes
