Garlic Lemon  Basil Scallops Recipe
A light Lemon & Garlic with a hint of basil flavor to spice up your scallops!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs bay or sea scallops, rinsed and well dried
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Flower
  • 1/4 Cup White Cooking Wine
  • 3 Tbsp Chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Salt & Pepper Pepper to taste

Directions
  1. In a large skillet melt butter, when just about melted add oil - low heat to medium heat.
  2. Add garlic until soft and cooked well, but do not brown.
  3. Add Milk & Flour and stir for 1-2 minutes
  4. Add White Wine
  5. Add scallops and basil & sauté over a medium to high heat
  6. Stir for 2 minutes.
  7. Add lemon juice and continue cooking, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes longer.
  8. Season with salt and pepper. Serve Immediately

Sounds great! Any special tips on how to pick them at the store and how to clean them or are they already cleaned?


This recipe is a keeper I love the lemon with the Basil. I brown my scallops first to give them some color.
