HERBED RICE PILAF

- Ingredients: shopping list
- 1 cup uncooked long grain rice shopping list
- 1 cup chopped celery shopping list
- ¾ cup chopped onion shopping list
- ¼ cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 ½ cups water shopping list
- 1 package ( 2 to 2 ½ -oz ) dry chicken noodle soup mix shopping list
- 2 Tbs. minced fresh parsley shopping list
- ½ tsp. Dried thyme shopping list
- ¼ tsp. rubbed sage shopping list
- ¼ tsp. pepper1 Tbs. chopped pimientos, optional shopping list
How to make it
- In a large skillet, cook the rice , celery and onion in butter, stirring constantly, until rice is browned. Stir in the next six ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in the pimientos if desired. Remove from heat let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
- Serving size ¾ cup
