Moroccan Style Hummus

- 1 medium onion shopping list
- 1 can chickpeas -- (19-oz) drained shopping list
- 3 tablespoons melted butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin shopping list
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 pinch cayenne shopping list
- 1 pinch saffron -- large pinch shopping list
- 1 clove garlic -- crushed shopping list
- 1 tablespoon olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Place onion in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Drain and allow to cool.
- Place onion and remaining ingredients, except olive oil, in a food
- processor and blend to a fine paste, adding a little water if necessary.
- Place on a serving platter, sprinkle with oil and serve.
