German Apfelstrudel

- Pastry: shopping list
- 12 sheets frozen filo pastry, thawed shopping list
- 1c. melted butter, cooled shopping list
- 3/4c. ground almonds shopping list
- confectioners sugar to finish before serving! shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 2lbs. tart apples shopping list
- grated zest and juice of 1 lemon shopping list
- 1/2c. raisans shopping list
- 1/3c. vanilla sugar shopping list
- 1/2tsp. cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Peel and core apples, slice thinly add with other filling ingredients mixing well set aside. With floured tea towel place pastry; brush with butter, and repeat with remainder sheets of pastry. Sprinkle ground almonds and add filling, leaving a wide border fold for sealing. Then using the floured tea towel roll the apple filled pastry and seal the ends.
