How to make it

  • Prepare Pastry:
  • Cut butter into flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, lemon zest and mace until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Mix egg and water; stir into flour mixture. Gather pastry into a ball; knead just until smooth, 5 or 6 times. Press evenly on bottom and side fo ungreased 9-in round layer pan. Place plum halves, cut sides down and overlapping slightly, in pastry-lined pan. Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon; sprinkle over plums. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 375 degrees; 40 minutes until pastry is golden brown and plums are bubbly. Enjoy!

    Just baked this BUT no on in their right mind would use 4 cups of sugar in the filling/toping.More like 1/4 cup.

    As much as baking is not my forte, I think I would have better luck whipping this recipe up than I would pronouncing its name! ;)
