Scandinavian Spritz Cookies

- 2 cups sifted flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/8 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg yolk unbeaten shopping list
- 1 tsp almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Sift baking powder, flour, salt together
- At medium speed beat butter until creamy
- Add sugar and beat until very light colored and fluffy
- blend in egg yolk and almond flavor
- At low speed gradually blend in flour mixture beating only to blend
- Wrap in wax paper and chill until easy to handle at least 1/2 hour but don't over chill or dough will be to hard to press through disc!
- preheat oven to 350F
- using a cookie press force chilled dough through a star disc forming shapes such as S, O and U
- Place on ungreased baking sheet
- Bake 8 to 10 mins or edges golden
- These cookies can be stored air tight and refrigerated up to 2 weeks
- Makes 7 dozen cookies of delcious buttery cookies
