January Apple Jelly Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 quart bottled or canned apple juice
  • 5 drops red food coloring (optional)
  • 1 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. powdered fruit pectin
  • 5 1/2 cups sugar

Directions
  1. Combine juice, food coloring and pectin in large saucepan.
  2. Bring to full boil.
  3. Add sugar.
  4. Stir until dissolved.
  5. Return to boil.
  6. Boil 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, skim.
  8. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Seal. Makes 7 half pints.
  9. Just guessing on how many servings for one jar so put the 8.
