Penne Arrabiata

- 250g dried penne pasta shopping list
- 1 400g can of chopped tomatoes shopping list
- 3 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- half a red-onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped shopping list
- 1 tsp chilli flakes shopping list
- salt shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
- 1 small red pepper, chopped shopping list
- Grated parmesan, to serve shopping list
- garlic bread, to serve shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan, gently cook the onion, garlic, and pepper in the olive oil until the onion has softened (4-6 minutes)
- Add the chopped tomatoes, and chilli flakes
- Season with salt and pepper
- Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta in salted water until cooked 'al dente'
- Drain the pasta, and add to the sauce
- Mix well,
- Serve with grated parmesan, and garlic bread
