Stumps Stew

- 6 beef shanks shopping list
- 1c burgandy shopping list
- 1 medium brown onion shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 6 pepper corns shopping list
- 3 medium potatoes shopping list
- 8 carrots shopping list
- 1 bunch celery especially the leaves shopping list
- 1 clove garlic shopping list
- 1/3c barely shopping list
- parsley shopping list
- flour shopping list
How to make it
- Boil in enough water to adequately cover for 3 hours: beef, burgandy, onion, salt, bayleaf, and pepper corns.
- Next remove bones and break up meat into chunks.
- Add the potatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, and barley.
- Simmer unti done.
- Thicken with 1 to 2 table soons flour stirred into 1/2 cup water then stirred into the stew.
- Simmer 10 minutes longer.
- Sprinkle on parsley to taste after stew is done cooking.
