Simply Awesome Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
From craigsnedeker 15 years agoIngredients
- 3/4 Cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter (heated in microwave until really soft, mostly melted, but not all the way) shopping list
- 1 Large egg shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon backing soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- There is a really simple trick to get these cookies just right, and I'll explain that later during the cooking phase. It's not all in the recpie (though a lot of it is), but in how long you cook it.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees, and get out a large bowl. Mix the sugar, brown sugar, butter, and egg until smooth. By hand, no need to get out that elextric mixer! (they are hard to wash afterwards anyway).
- In another bowl (optional if you know what you are doing!) mix all the flour, baking soda, and salt together and dump it in the sugar-mixture. Mix until smooth, but it might be stiff. This is OK! Also, don't forget the chocolate chips! They won't me chocolate clip cookies without the chocolate chips! =)
- Ok, drop by table soon unto a ungreased cookie sheet. Make them good sized, not really small. They need to be an inch apart or so.
- Now here's the trick I found out. Only put them in for 8-9 minutes (when the oven gets hotter, only 8 minuets). When they come out, they will look un-cooked, not done, gooey, and a pile of mush! (ok, so maybe not mush, but you get the idea). This is good! Once they cool, they flatten out and get hard enough to pick up. Five minutes or so cooling should be good enough to put on a rack. Trust me, this makes the perfect cookies, if your looking for something soft and chewy.
- Hope you like this recpie! If you do, comment, and upload your own photos. Cheers (and happy cooking!)

I have also found that cooking for less time is best, even though they don't look done. Thanks, and five forks.
