How to make it

  • Beat butterand sugar together.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Sift then stir into mixture: flour, salt, and rolled oats.
  • Refridgerate for one hour then turn out dough in the shape of a column onto a large piece of waxed paper.
  • Sprinkle with sprinkles on all sides.
  • Shape into a roll 2" in diameter and twist the ends of the waxed paper.
  • Chill several hours or overnight.
  • Slice roll into 1/4" disks.
  • Cook on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 mins.
  • Try substituting the sprinkles with: grated semi sweet chocolate, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or chopped candied fruit.
