How to make it

  • In a small bowl, blend the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, celery seed, and salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cabbage and carrots. Pour the dressing over the mixture and blend well. Refrigerate until serving time.
  • I mix all ingredients together and place in a 1 gallon zip style bag and after marinade time take out as much as I need for the meal and keep rest in bag, lasts for 5-6 days this way,
  • Mmmm Creamy Cole Slaw for days !!

    I have been making this for 27 years. Sometimes, I omit the mayo & sugar and use an apple cider vinegar. Either way, this is terrific.

    I have a couple of 'no mayo' people so I often divide the slaw and add mayo to only part. With apple cider vinegar, the sugar is not needed.

    Some of the other superb recipes from this book are Black Bean Salad (use high quality canned to save time), and Jamaican Jerk Chicken.
