How to make it

  • Sift together flour and salt.
  • With a fork for pastry cutter, cut in shortening until it is the size of peas.
  • Sprinkle the cold water over different parts of the mixture.
  • Mix thoroughly with the pastry cutter until all particles cling together and form a ball of dough.
  • Roll out for pie crust and trim edges.
  • Prick bottom with a fork.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • *1 recipe for bottom only.
  • *Double recipe for bottom and top.
