How to make it

  • In a bowl stir the eggs, the sugar and vanilla. set aside.
  • In middle heat warm the milk, add the cream of wheat and stir until it becomes compact. Keep stirring and add the eggs mixture. stir couple of minutes and then add the butter. let it melt and then take of heat. Let the cream cool. (stir every few minutes so that there will be no skin on the cream)
  • roll out the pastry. put a sheet in a 30x20 cm baking pan.(if the sheets are too thin, you can put two) melt the butter and brush the bottom. then add the cream and roll over the ends of the pastry. then cover the cream with another sheet of pastry and brush it with butter and a bit water. bake at 180° for about 30 min.
  • Prepare the syrup.
  • Boil the water, sugar and lemon zest for about 5 minutes. Add the lemon juice and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Poor the syrup over the hot pie.
