  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles

Directions
  1. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking powdero and baking soda to combine thoroughly; set aside.
  2. In a mixer bowl, combine butter and peanut butter; beat to blend thoroughly.
  3. Add sugar and beat until fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until just blended.
  6. Stir in chocolate sprinkles.
  7. Divide dough in half.
  8. Transfer each half to a sheet of waxed paper or plastic.
  9. Using a spatula and the waxed paper to "handle" the dough, shage each half into a 2-inch diameter log. (I don't know how else to explain it!!!)
  10. Wrap each log tightly.
  11. Refrigerate overnight.
  12. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  13. Cut "logs" into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  14. Arrange slices, about an inch apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  15. Bake until cookies are firm to the touch, about 10-12 minutes.
  16. Let stand for about 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool.
