Strawberry Mint Dessert Sauce

From the sweet folks at ImperialSugar.com-a luscious recipe just in time for Valentine's Day.

1/4 cup Imperial sugar Extra Fine Granulated sugar or Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated sugar shopping list
1/2 cup water shopping list
1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves, washed, dried, chopped shopping list
1 pint of strawberries, washed, hulled, halved shopping list

Bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. In a blender, puree strawberries and sugar syrup and transfer to a bowl; stir in mint. Chill mixture, covered, at least one hour or up to 24 hours. When serving, pour sauce through a sieve into a bowl. Serve over a mousse, custard or ice cream. Yields: Two cups.
