How to make it

  • In a blender,combine 1st 5 ingredients
  • Blend until well combined
  • To eliminate air bubbles, cover and refrigerate about 3 hours
  • Place a rack in the middle of the oven
  • Remove upper rack
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Brush meted butter over unbaked pie shell
  • Sprinkle with nutmeg
  • Place pie shell on middle oven rack Pour filling into shell
  • Bake until set, about 30-40 minutes
  • The custard should still jiggle slightly when you tap the edge of the pan, it will continue to set as it cools
  • Cool completely on a rack
