From windy1950 14 years agoIngredients
- 7 lbs country style pork ribs shopping list
- Tabasco sauce shopping list
- salt and pepper, to taste shopping list
- Coarse grind garlic, to taste shopping list
- 2 (40 oz) beers (cheap for cooking) shopping list
- 5 medium onions (or more), roughly chopped shopping list
- KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Rub Tabasco (or any hot sauce) on ribs; salt and pepper to taste. In a sprayed roasting pan over medium heat, brown meat on all sides.
- Pour one of the bottles of beer over the meat and bring to a boil.
- Scatter the onions over the meat, add a bit of garlic, and turn down the heat to medium-low. Cover and set the timer for a half hour.
- Check on the liquid level every half hour, and gradually add the other bottle of beer if and when needed. Cook for about two hours, maybe more, until the liquid is almost, but not quite, cooked away.
- Set oven to 325°F. Generously brush the BBQ Sauce onto the ribs and cover with foil or roaster lid. After about an hour, turn the ribs and brush on more sauce. Roast for another hour. Meat will be “fall-apart” tender.
- ACCOMPANIMENTS:
- Serve with cole slaw, potato salad, and crusty bread.
- Serve with sauerkraut (cooked with the ribs), fried potatoes, and biscuits.
- Serve with fried cabbage, baked yams, and dinner rolls.
