upsidedown fruit cake

- 1 duncan hines moist deluxe pineapple supreme cake mix shopping list
- 1 20oz can pineapple slices shopping list
- 1 11oz mandarin oranges (peeled segments in light syrup) shopping list
- 1 TBL vanilla flavoring shopping list
- 1 TBL orange peel (dehydrated) shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
- 1 cup juice from pineapple and orange cans shopping list
- a few marichino cherries shopping list
How to make it
- drain juice from canned fruits (aprox 1 cup) add water to make 1 1/3 cups total liquid. add vanilla, eggs, oil, orange peel and cake mix in bowl and mix. set pineapple rings in baking dish with cherries in center of rings and spread out oranges until whole bottom of cake pan is covered. pour cake mix over fruit and bake as directed. this is my little twist i came up with and the wife and kids like to garnish the top of cake with drained mandarin oranges before serving.
