EASY COLLARD GREENS

- 3 lb. Fresh collard greens shopping list
- 1 1/2 lb. Fresh mustard greens shopping list
- 1 lb. Slab bacon, chopped shopping list
- 1 Tbsp chili pepper flakes shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 small onion, chopped or diced shopping list
- 1-2 Tbsp hot sauce (optional) shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
- chili powder to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Wash the greens well so that no grit remains on the leaves.
- Trim the stems from the leaves and cut the leaves into large strips. Place the greens, seasonings, onion, garlic and the bacon in a large saucepan and cover with water.
- Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
- Drain the greens, seasoning to taste.
- Serve immediately.
