Very Waistline Friendly Turkey Chili

- 1 pound ground turkey or lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 to 1-1/2 cups chopped onion shopping list
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced shopping list
- 1 medium green pepper, seeded and chopped shopping list
- 1-15.5oz. can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed shopping list
- 1-15.5oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed shopping list
- 1-15oz. can whole kernal corn, drained shopping list
- 1-14.5oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained shopping list
- 1-15oz. can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1-8oz. can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chili powder shopping list
- Tabasco sauce, to taste, optional shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- light sour cream shopping list
How to make it
- In a large pot, cook ground turkey and onion over medium-high heat, 8-10 minutes; drain well.
- Add garlic and green pepper, and cook 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in all beans, corn, diced tomatoes (with liquid), tomato sauce, water, chili powder, tabasco sauce (if using), and salt.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve topped with cheese and sour cream
- NOTE: This is NOT a spicy chili. Add spice to suit your tastes.
