Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oil in large pot. Add onions, cloves, cinnamon and aniseed and sauté until golden
  • In a mixing bowl, add meat, ginger and garlic, salt, yoghurt and the masala mix.
  • Mix together so that all the meat is evenly covered with all the spices and yoghurt.
  • Add this mixture to the now golden onions with a little water.
  • U can prepare the meat the night before and leave it in the fridge, this way it is nicely marinated and the flavour is well soaked in.
  • Cook for about 40min, or until meat is cooked and the sauce is nice and thick.
  • Add the already cooked rice and lentils and mix through thoroughly, put the stove on low so that it steams and does not stick.
  • Once Breyani is steamed through stir in butter and coriander

This will be nice. It's a shame but most, if not all, of our friends in the US and Europe will have to do this with lamb. The dish will have less flavor but will still be nice. Thanks for the post. RJ
